Aaron and Chris worked for almost 7 straight hours on the bus in 100+ heat; troubleshooting, changing filters, and trying to clear the lines. Nikki also stayed behind and worked the phones, trying to find a 24 hour garage and a towing company all while trying to keep the band updated.

Eventually they had to throw in the towel and had the bus towed to Little Rock.

Then the car that was taking them to the club wouldn’t start on account of a dead battery. They were able to get a jump from a nereby resident (in the middle of nowhere mind you) and they made it just in time to change over for their set.

Much, much, much love to the neighbors, Vince Griffin, Chris & Nikki Kleinberg and Aaron Weisd for all their hard diligence!

10 days after the tour started it came to a sudden, unexpected, awkward, and sad end. Thrice had to cancel the remainder of the shows due to a pretty dire situation with Dustin’s dad and had to fly home back to California. No Dustin, no Thrice. No Thrice, no tour.

Here is everyone huddled between the two buses grabbing some free merch and heartfelt goodbyes.

Manchester / Thrice: Day 1, Hour 1

Yesterday I flew out to Atlanta to meet up with Manchester Orchestra for their co-headlining tour with Thrice. Its gonna be 20 dates in three and a half weeks mostly B markets, a lot places I haven’t been to. This is my first tour in just over 4 months and I was starting to really feel the need for steady work. It was actually driving me a little nuts. So needless to say, I’m excited to get back on the road and do some work.

Tonight and tomorrow are both hometown shows for Manchester at the Variety Playhouse here in Atlanta. Tonight I’m super low on shirts and sizes. There was some miscommunication and the restock doesn’t come till tomorrow. It’s making things a little slow as I’m sure people are bummed that we only have Larges and XLs.

Being on tour is like being in limbo. It’s like going from nowhere to nowhere.
